There and Back Again: A Hobbyist's Tale.
Now, where to begin? Ah, yes. Concerning Hobbyists.
Hobbyists have been living and building in the four farthings of the Shire for many decades, quite content to ignore and be ignored by the world of the Big Folk. Middle-Earth being, after all, full of strange creatures beyond count, hobbyists must seem of little importance, being neither renowned as great warriors nor counted among the very wise.
In fact, it has been remarked by some that hobbyists only real passion is for grey plastic. A rather unfair observation as we have also developed a keen interest in the watching of YouTube turorials and pursuing of the next hobby hack. But where our hearts truly lie is in peace, and quiet, and good free time. For all hobbyists share a love of things that can be crafted. And yes, no doubt to others our ways seem quaint. But today of all days, it is brought home to me: it is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life.

To start our epic journey to the biggest MESBG event in Australia, we need to get the tables ready, and MESBG players are if anything suckers for beautifully themed terrain. So we are asking the community help pitch in with build and paint nights on Thursdays 5-10pm. We'll even provide free Lembas bread (pizza) to those that pitch in!
We have a bunch of assembled GW terrain (Rohan, Dol Guldur, Gondor, Ruins), are building more (Hobbiton, Weathertop) and would love some help on scratch built scenery (hills, rocky outrcrops, more ideas?) to complete themed tables.
TCC staff will be on hand to help with various techniques, so you don't have to be a master at airbrushing, enamels, drybrushing or painting, we'll be happy for any help :)
First night will be 30th July 2026, in our very own hobbit hole under the mezzanine.
