Every Tone Pro colour comes in five numbered tones, running from 1 (darkest) to 5 (lightest). You don't have to guess which paint highlights which, because the numbers do it for you. The set covers shading, basecoats, midtones and highlights in a single colour family.

What you can do with it

• Smooth blends: Base with 2, shade with 1, then work up through 3, 4 and 5 for a gradual transition.
• Bold, punchy highlights: Skip the middle and use 1, 3 and 5 for more dramatic contrast.
• Any technique: The paints suit basecoating, layering, edge highlighting, glazing and drybrushing.
• Shades and glazes: Mix any tone with Shading Medium to thin it into a shade or glaze.
